Goldfield, Nevada

Goldfield, Nevada, Sept. 30th, 1909, the greatest gold camp in the world.

I have included this photo in the modern photo category to emphasize the staggering decline this city has experienced. I have not seen any other mining era city of this size that virtually disappeared in such a short span of time.
