Location: Secs. 30 and 31, (37-17E) and secs. 25 and 36, (37-16E), on Mill Cr., Slate Cr. dist.

Access: Truck road over Harts Pass from Methow Valley.

Property: 42 unpatented claims including Azurite, Copper Dike, Seattle (1949). 11 unpatented claims (1952).

Owner: Azurite Gold Co., Winthrop, Wash. (1925 --). Leased by American Smelting & Refining Co. (1934-1943).

Ore: Gold, copper, zinc, silver, lead.

Ore. minerals: Chalcopyrite, sphalerite, pyrite, pyrrhotite, galena.

Deposit: A 2- to 7-ft. quartz vein cutting through argillite is mineralized in places. Other undeveloped veins are also reported. Ore-producing body has been depleted.

Development: About 3,000 ft. of adit work, chiefly on 2 levels. Since 1941 a 125-ft. winze was sunk and crosscuts were driven both ways from the winze.

Assays: 58,358 tons shipped avrage 0.473 oz. Au.

Production: 1920, 1930, 1934, 3,000 tons in 1936, 27,530 tons in 1937, 36,515 tons in 1938, 5,375 tons in 1939. Produced 1941. Gross value of production reported $972,000.
