Location
Collierville is in the East Gold Belt of the Sierra Nevada in south-central Calaveras County and north-central Tuolumne County. It is about five miles due east of Murphys.

Geology
The area is underlain by west-striking beds of siliceous slate, banded quartzite, and mica schist, with several limestone lenses. Granodiorite stocks up to two miles in diameter lie in the northeast and southeast. A number of west-striking and north-dipping or northeast-striking southeast-dipping quartz veins in the metamorphic rocks contain free gold and often abundant sulfides. The quartz is white to dark gray in color. Some high-grade pockets were recovered here, and tellurides have been reported.

Mines
Collier, Dorsey, Golden Sulphuret, Louise, North Chimney Rock, Sailor Boy, True Business.
