The Trojan or Providence mining district is in eastern San Bernardino County in the Providence Mountain. Some gold, copper, silver, and lead have been mined here, the main sources having been the Barnett and Gold King mines. They were active prior to and during World War I. The deposits consist of quartz veins in quartz monzonite that contain abundant sulfides.
